Christmas Giveaway

Glory to God, Saturday December 12 was a special day, Pastor Erasto and the congregation put together a program for the youth group and the kids of downtown Albany, to celebrate the gift of giving back to God's children. Each and every kid that weren't able to get a gift for Christmas received one, which was such a blessing.

Before we start the program of the day the youth group gathers around in a circle to pray thanking God for all that he has done for us to make sure that he gets all the glory and the praise.

Trust in the Lord

For Saturdays program the message for the day was "Trust in the Lord". In Proverbs chapter 3 verse 6 He says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding".

Pastor Erasto created a demonstration for the youth group to allow them to experience being pressured by the devil. The Pastor acted out the role of the Lord while the students acted out the role of the evil spirits. Then one student would get a chance to stand in front of the church and close their eyes while the evil spirits would shout out when to fall back. The objective was for the student to only fall back when the Lord told him to. This represented the trust he had in the Lord to catch him when he falls. The pastor emphasized this to the youth to teach them that even in stressful situations God will always come through and guide you, so trust in him at all times, and you may ask "how will you know it's him", Pastor Erasto explained you'll know its him because his voice will stand out from all the others and God will tell you don't be afraid.

The Church of Unity and Prayer would like to thank "Toys for Tots" for the toy donations we received for our youth program. It is such a blessing to be able to receive these donations from "Toys for Tots" from their hearts and obedience in serving in the kingdom of God.
