Manners and Modesty

Actualizado: 19 dic 2020

This Saturday 09/26/2020 we decided to do something a little different and we held a presentation in conjunction with the message on manners and modesty.

Pastor Erasto began the message by asking the youth the following question; Do you go to the refrigerator without asking for permission when you are in someone else's house? And the young people answered: “no, because it is a lack of respect”. Taking advantage of this response, we addressed the issue of respect in the Church, we talked about how to sit and how we should not sit, about the importance of respecting the church, and dressing appropriately because this is the house of God.

We also dramatized a scene about a boy going to his friend's house, with the intention of acting in the appropriate way. We came to the conclusion that before going to his friend's room to play, before going to the bathroom or doing anything else, he must wait for the permission of his friend's parents, and we have to respect our parents, if they tell us not to do something we should not do it.

At this point we are going to teach the youth the presentation we brought them on modesty. This presentation consisted of defining what modesty is; It is the behavior or appearance that we take for the purpose of avoiding inappropriateness or indecency. It also had the objective to present reasons why we should be modest, some of these are; Being modest shows others that you have respect for yourself and shows that you have purity.

This presentation also contained biblical verses referring to modesty, such as: “Flee fornication. Any other sin that man commits is outside the body; but he who fornicates sins against his own body. " 1 Corinthians 6:18, “Considering your chaste and respectful conduct. Your attire is not the external one of ostentatious hairstyles, gold ornaments or luxurious dresses, but the internal one, that of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which is of great esteem before God. " 1 Peter 3: 2-4. And to conclude we showed the young people some images so that they could identify who was dressed modestly and who was not.
