Virtuous!

I remember a few months ago, I said to my husband, “I want to be a virtuous wife to You” and he responded, “but You are.” When He said that to me, a part of me felt like, he wasn’t being serious or maybe, He was just really trying to make me feel good about myself because I was far from Proverbs 31 Virtuous. He then pointed to a very tall and beautiful tree outside the window of our home and said “Do You see that tree, that tree started as a little seed,” but from the beginning, though very small, in its seed was the capacity to be just as huge and beautiful as it is now! Wow, I understood exactly what he was saying and I imagined myself truly virtuous! Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:10-12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ To be Virtuous, I truly have to walk with Christ, trust in Christ, and allow Him to mold me every day. Christ created me to be virtuous! He created me to be powerful, to be strong, and to take care of the most beautiful and at times overwhelming and tiring responsibilities of family life and children. A virtuous woman does her husband good all the days of her life, she doesn’t live with insecurities or pointing fingers but contrary, praiseworthy and always helpful. You and I become virtuous when we allow God to be first in our hearts and the center of our marriage. Allow the Lord to develop your character, your attitude, and Love. Virtue is living within you! He is the Holy Spirit. Even so, to take care of our responsibilities as wife, mother, sister, friend, employee, or caregiver, we as women wear many hats and need the guidance and filling of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit produces patience, kindness, gentleness, love, self-control and joy within ourselves and in our lives. This is why, it is so important as women, with many responsibilities to be filled with the power of God! I need God every day to help me and guide me in my marriage, three young children, decision making and house-work, and homemaking. We encounter so many things, day to day, especially with children, we need the Lord and our family needs us. Society often illustrates a picture of happiness with the idea that money, intimacy, beauty, and various pleasures are what make a peaceful, loving, and supportive home. Some people even joke and criticize women who choose to stay home with their children, not taking into consideration that the role of wife and mother is one of the most important roles given to woman, not competing roles and time-consuming careers; and being a wife and mother is one of my greatest blessings but I need to be spiritually equipped to succeed in my God-given roles. I need the guidance of The Holy Spirit every day, reminding me and encouraging me to be the woman God created me to be: fruitful and a blessing to others! We have to seek and desire time with the Lord and He makes us virtuous. God is able, and Proverbs 31 is a heart-felt example of a woman guided by the Holy Spirit, not by emotions, other people’s opinions, or comparisons. Virtue may look different in all of us, but the result is always the same, a faithful, God-fearing woman, who trusts in the Lord. This creates peace in my home, although I have a long list of responsibilities, and some days are not easy, I seek every day to do them guided by the Holy Spirit. And no matter what role You are fulfilling in your life, you are virtuous if You put God first! “She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her:” Proverbs‬ ‭31:27-28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

May God Bless You
